something to hold on to / the head of a nail an open palm

Is language consuming? Or is it rather consumed? What does the language of consumption look like, and how does it sound? Is it a language with an expiration date, one that is produced and reproduced? What is its relation to poetry? Can poetry offer an alternative to consumption, or will it also become consumed?

The panel explores the role of language within capitalist structures. Together we reflect on the consumption of identities, the interplay between language and image in public spaces, and whether and how poetry can replace consumption––with Späti objects and products serving as metaphors for belonging, longing and memory.

After the event, this page will host images, insights, and fragments from the discussion—forming an evolving archive.
